Senior journalism major Johanna Wharran is the current co-opinions editor of The Globe and is in her sixth semester on staff.

– Why did you join The Globe?

During the first semester of my sophomore year I applied for a work study position as a copy editor. I also needed to have stories published for a class, so writing became part of my weekly hours. Now, in my last semester at Point Park, I'm still here every Monday night putting the paper together.

– What is your favorite memory of your time at The Globe?

I am currently the longest running member of Globe staff. I have seen a lot of people come in and out of our newsroom. I have argued a lot with some of these people, laughed even more with most of them and met some of the most important people in my life at The Globe. It’s not a memory per se, but it’s my favorite thing about this job.

– In three words, The Globe is…

(my) favorite college experience.

– Which fictional cartoon character would you want to be for a week and why?

Clover, from Totally Spies. For anyone reading this who isn’t familiar with Totally Spies, imagine high school Charlie’s Angels, just more concerned with clothes and hair.

– Coke or Pepsi?

Pepsi without a doubt.

– If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?

I wouldn't sing any song on American Idol. Without Simon and Randy, there is just no point. However if I could sing any song AND sing it well… I would probably sing Zombie by The Cranberries on The Voice rather than American Idol.

– What do you think cats dream about?

I'd like to think that every cat is different in it's thoughts and experiences, so I can only speak for my own cat. Stewart, a darling siamese cat named after Jimmy Stewart, I'd imagine dreams of days without my dogs and the world outside my backyard, as he is ALWAYS trying to escape.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I’m graduating at the end of this semester, and I’d just like to say thank you to The Globe, and every version of the staff that I’ve been on for making my Mondays awesome and giving me a job that I love.
