On Friday, April 12, the Campus Activities Board put on “Spring Fling.” The event was in celebration of the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Students enjoyed live music, free Moe’s queso and activities such as potting succulents and making seaglass necklaces. CAB also provided ice cream, cotton candy, burgers, walking tacos and mocktails. Spring Fling was named the Event of the Year for 2019.

Arya, a 3-year-old therapy dog from Therapets, came to visit students during the CAB sponsered Hound Hangout on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Therapets is a program through Humane Animal Rescue where dogs and their handlers learn how to bring a relaxing environment as a form of therapy for others.

Pittsburgh locals hold up their “When We All Vote” signs and cheer as actor Tom Hanks leaves the stage after delivering an empowering speech. Hanks touched on the importance of participating in our democracy. Students from surrounding Pittsburgh universities came out to see Hanks speak about the importance of voting in the midterm elections, along with other speakers such as Steelers running back James Conner, team executive Jim Rooney and coach Mike Tomlins’ wife, Kiya Tomlin. The “When We All Vote” rally was organized through the University of Pittsburgh.
