Trump stumbles into racist comments

Donald Trump has said many things.

I should say typed, because most of them come from behind a computer screen via his Twitter account. When he does actually speak in public, it doesn’t get any better than his usual 280 characters.

He topped all of his greatest tweets and most outrageous comments with this one.

The comment made by the president, that’s right, the President of the United States, was in reference to immigrants coming into our country from African countries and Haiti.

He asked, and I quote, “Why do we want all these people from shithole countries coming here?”

Let that one sink in for a minute.

That’s the president.

Where do you even start with that comment?

Why, all of a sudden, is he concerned with those specific countries and the immigrants coming from them? It seems like every week he has a new target country or countries and he’s got a tweet ready to send.

Okay, he’s made comments like this before toward almost the entire Middle East, but never in this context. He’s never been the best with vocabulary. But by calling countries “shithole countries,” are they not just bad countries or good countries anymore?

This presidency is the most social media fueled one, but why? He’s definitely got everyone on their toes. I don’t think he should be allowed to just tweet his feelings or his personal opinions when he’s running a country.

Why does he have the ability to sit behind a computer screen, stand behind a podium or sit in a meeting and say hateful things like that?

I’ll be the first to tell you, I’m not a fan of his for multiple reasons, but I want to know why it’s different with him. He says and does these things and gets away with them.

The funny thing is – no one is there to stop him and most would rather debate on it being tough language then a racial slur.

So it boils down to this; he’s the most powerful man in the country and he can say what he wants.

I personally don’t think his position should matter. Everyone is human, and everyone bleeds the same blood.

There’s nothing that sets him aside from anyone else aside from his position.

This should be alarming to more people. There should be some type of protest or movement about it. But everyone is just so shell shocked that he said it.

Who is he to pick who comes and who goes in a country that is supposed to be the land of the free?

We spend our whole lives being told not to bully other people and to treat people the way you want to be treated.

And then the president decides to make a racist comment about African countries and Haiti.

He’s also stated that he’d rather have immigrants from Norway, a country predominantly inhabited by white citizens – another try at his make America white again gimmick.

This not only makes us, as a nation look bad, but makes him look like a joke.

I guess his mother never taught him to play nice with others.
