Pioneer Records to host 2022 Release Show this Wednesday

Written By Zachary Wittman, Music Columnist

Point Park’s very own Pioneer Records will be hosting their 2022 Release Show this Wednesday, April 13, at The Club at Stage AE. The students at Pioneer Records have been pouring their energy into this show in order to share with the world a performance that would be both memorable to the audience and those performing. The artists slated to take the stage include Tupelo, Cesca Violet and The Kill Caesar Club.

Each artist will bring their own unique sound to the event.

Violet said that performing can be exhilarating and terrifying because of the inherent vulnerability.

“I think I’m letting listeners see parts of me they’ve never seen through my songwriting, and it’s a relief and scary all at the same time,” she said.

Cesca Violet also shares her musical creed, adding “music has always been like a friend to me when I’ve felt at my lowest, so if anyone takes anything away from my songs, I hope it’s that they resonated with the message to where they felt seen and heard.”

Ben Walter and Zayle Apodaca of The Kill Caeser Club also weighed in.

“We’re excited about giving people a memorable experience and the both of us breaking out of self-imposed cages that we’ve been locked in for years.”

They also plan to release their debut project the day of the show. Jay R., one half of the duo HUMAN, was also recently announced as the opener for the concert.

There will be tabling events held on the second floor of Lawrence Hall in order to obtain tickets for the event. These stations will be up Monday, April 11, from noon to 4 p.m. as well as Tuesday, April 12, from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are free to Point Park students and $10 for general admission for non-PPU affiliates. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
