Hundreds of gun enthusiasts from across Pennsylvania came to Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon to rally for gun rights in the city.

In mid-December, Mayor Bill Peduto and members of City Council proposed a package of local-level gun control measures inspired by the mass shooting that occurred at the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill on Oct. 27. The proposed package would back assault weapons, prohibit bump stocks and large capacity magazines. It would also allow the courts to confiscate firearms from a person deemed an “extreme risk.”
