Book Review: Ana Huang’s ‘King of Sin’

Ana Huang is an author that has released many new books in the past five years. Since 2020, Huang has released 15 books. Many of those books are interconnected standalones -- books that can be read by themselves or with the rest of the series. These include books from series such as her “Twisted” and “King of Sin” series. 

‘Wallace & Gromit’ an immaculate revival

As a child, I was introduced to “Wallace and Gromit” through their 2005 film “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.” While it might not have been in my core VHS rotation, probably due to my very in-character fear of the were-rabbit transformation scene, I remember liking it well enough.

Flow: A breath of fresh air

There were six films nominated for Best Animated Feature at this year’s Golden Globe ceremony. Of the nominees, two of those movies were sequels, one was a film in an already-established franchise, one was a novel adaptation, and only two were fully original products. Of these original works, one was the stop-motion dramedy “Memoir of a Snail,” and the other was the ultimate winner of the award: “Flow.”

“The Groundskeeper,” a Gothic Horror short film directed by Gabriel Hoover and edited by Asher Gideon, is a film that takes inspiration from George Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead,” Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead” and Michele Soavi’s “Cemetery Man.”

“Bearhead McGee,” a P4 short film reimagined by Logan Stanfa, is a comedy-noir of renowned detective Bearhead McGee, who is half man and half bear. The film is about Bearhead McGee getting back into the detective game, at which point he finds out that his former partner has turned to a life of crime and now calls himself “The Cheetah.”

‘MJ the Musical’ at the Benedum Center

Production 4: ‘She’s a Keeper’

“She’s a Keeper,” created by senior Anna Segar and written by senior Tiffany Scales, is a romantic comedy that infuses elements of 2000s romance comedies and sports. The film takes inspiration from movies such as “She’s All That,” “10 Things I Hate about You” and other works inspired from Shakespeare.
