Move over Pirates Pierogies, there’s a new savory mascot on the block. His name is Regi, and his goal is encouraging students to “regi-ster” to vote. 

First-year students Engage in Nonprofit Work through Bonner Scholarship Interviews

First-year students selected for the Bonner’s Leadership Scholarship program were interviewed in a final round on Sept. 18.  If selected by a sponsor, that student will work for the non-profit through work study for their next four years at Point Park. The first-year present were notified early in highschool to let them know that they qualified for the Bonner’s Leadership Program.

With the 2024 Presidential Election quickly approaching, it’s likely you’ve seen or been approached by canvassers throughout the city ensuring you are registered to vote. One of those individuals is junior theater arts major Leandro Bilello-Rodriguez, who has devoted a large portion of his work to making sure his fellow Point Park students are prepared to cast their ballots this November.

Forbes Tavern: Don’t get the Dip

The Forbes Tavern, located on Forbes Avenue, is a right turn past the University Center, in the opposite direction of Market Square and just past the French bakery La Gourmandine. The entrance, labeled with a large sign, leads a customer inside to a room with three sports TVs and a bar littered with men and women in business clothing. Probably letting a load off after work around 6 p.m.

On Sept.10 every year, World Suicide Prevention Day is a way to change the narrative surrounding suicide. The goal is to have open discussions about suicide, so that more people will help themselves as well as each other by seeking support.
