Giovanni’s Pizza and Pasta located on 123 Sixth Street definitely has pizza and definitely has pasta, but it’s some of the weirdest I have ever tasted.

On the first floor of the Union Trust building, four entrances create a cross, and the ground is lined with two blue carpets. Intersecting the rugs in the middle is a help desk, and diagonally adjacent to it is a podium attended by a host from The Speckled Egg.

It’s no secret that Pittsburgh is almost in an oversupply of fried chicken spots that all have exceptional food. Some are national chains like Raising Canes and The Eagle, while others like CHiKN and Wings and a Prayer are exclusive to Allegheny County.

It was Saturday night when I went onto Google and reserved a table for two at The Eagle. We missed our reservation for 6:30 p.m., though, because I spent over 30 minutes looking for parking. Defeated, I gave up trying to park in the restaurant’s general vicinity and instead parked my car in the lot next to Conestoga Hall, taking a chilly 11 minute walk with my partner to the bar and chicken restaurant.

The food at Everyday Noodles restaurant was incredibly authentic. All the noodles are made by hand and the cooks do so behind a piece of glass so diners can watch. The owner works with the Taiwanese government to bring cooks to the United States, according to the restaurant’s website.

Burgh Bites: The boba at Fuku Tea slaps

Written By Cassandra Harris, Editor-in-Chief November 13, 2024
I have never felt more insane than when I brought home five cups of boba, tea and smoothies at 8 p.m. Located on Forbes Avenue near Pitt’s campus, the teas from Fuku Tea were quite sweet, especially with the addition of boba topping or jelly for an additional upcharge.
