We need to resolve the media literacy crisis

There is avid discourse regarding the education of former and current students in secondary education, and whether or not they receive media literacy training. In online circles, educators and parents alike are speaking out about struggles children are facing in academic environments. The younger generation, Generation Alpha, are being enrolled in schools before learning how to read or hold a pencil.

While Pittsburgh has already had to deal with a bridge collapse of its own, with the Fern Hollow bridge falling 100 feet into a ravine in January 2022, the conversation around bridge safety has been revived in the rust belt due to the Francis Scott Key Bridge tragedy in Baltimore.
