Sophomore photojournalism major Chloe Jakiela is the features photo editor for the Globe. She is in her fourth semester with The Globe.

– Why did you join The Globe?
To get more experience in my field and connect with others that share the passion for storytelling.

– Why did you choose Point Park?
Downtown location, had my major of choice, small campus.

– Explain your role this year on the Globe staff.
This is my first semester being the Features Photo Editor, and I have taken on the role of organizing the photos for this section. On Mondays during the pitch meeting, I pitch photo assignments that deal with feature things happening on campus and around the city, so stories that fall in the category of human interest. After the pitch meeting I edit the feature photos that were taken from the previous week to go the paper coming out on Wednesday and sometimes take photos on the fly if need be that are needed for the current issue. Additionally, as one of the photo editors I send pitch emails for the photography needed in the upcoming issue along with running The Globe's photo blog.

– Why do you like photography?
It is an art to express myself both as a person and visual storyteller, I can't see myself doing anything else.

– What does it mean to you to be a photographer?
As this type of creative, my role is to reveal truths in society, capture slices of life that people may otherwise not notice, and to conceptually express myself. As a photojournalism major, I like taking news photographs/videos and writing, but I also like to be artistic with my work.

– What is your favorite memory of your time at The Globe?
All photo assignments, and of course the amusing conversations.

– In three words, Point Park (and Pittsburgh) is:
Inspiring, home, strange.

– What three items would you bring if you were stranded on a deserted island?
Camera, notebook and something else important that I am too indecisive to name.

– What is your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas because of all the feel good happenings.

– What's your favorite genre of music?
Alternative and rock, rock alternative? Alternative rock? I like most music, but NOT country.

– What would you do with a million dollars?
Buy camera equipment, pay off student loans, travel and donate the rest to my parents, along with my closest friends and to people in need.

– What is your favorite season and why?
Either Fall or Spring, I like when the weather is pleasantly cool or warm.

– Anything else you'd like to add.

It's been real.
