CAB set to host annual Late Night Breakfast

In order to help students de-stress at the start of finals week, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) will hosting its annual Late Night Breakfast event from 9-11 p.m Monday Dec. 8 on the third floor of Lawrence Hall.

Hard-studying students can take a break to enjoy breakfast foods in the dining hall and play bingo in the ballroom, which gives students the opportunity to win $1,000 in prizes

“At bingo we have everything from a flat screen TV to give away, to a mountain bike, to a $100 MasterCard, so it’s a good opportunity for students to come and hang out.” Colten Gill, a sophomore acting and SAEM major, said.

Sure the food and prizes are awesome, but CAB and Dean Michael Gieseke wanted to make sure students would have the best time and really de-stress at Late Night Breakfast so they invited professors to come to the event as well to serve the food.

“One of the great things about Late Night Breakfast is that we invite professors and faculty and staff to interact with students and serve the breakfast and walk around having conversations with students, so it should be a really fun time," Noelle Novakovich, a senior Advertising and Public Relations major and Vice President of the marketing board for CAB, said.

According to Dean Gieseke, about 15 members of the faculty and staff have agreed to help out during The Late Night Breakfast. A few of the participants include Dean Gieseke (Dean of Student Life) himself, Dean Keith Paylo (Dean of Students), Jeff Besong (Chief of Police), Professor David Rowell and Professor Bob Draper, just to name a few.

“In my opinion, the students enjoy this event because for one, everyone loves breakfast foods and two, it’s a relaxing event where they can come and let off some steam from stress before we enter finals week.  Also in previous years when we’ve held bingo, the participants get very into it and intense,” Mallory McGuire, a senior Mass Communications major and the Special Events Coordinator for CAB, said.

For more information, you can stop by the CAB office on the first floor of the Student Center to talk to them about the event.
