Osteria 100 adds class, atmosphere to Village Park

Recently, a new restaurant opened up right on our campus called Osteria 100.  However, the look of the place seems rather fancy and too formal for college students. But that is not the case at all. Yes, the interior is modern, but that doesn’t mean that the people who go in there have to be dressed formal. When I went to have lunch the other day, I was wearing jeans, a casual shirt and my hair was pulled back. I went in wearing what I would normally wear to class, and it was fine. I was treated with respect, and I got a delicious meal out of it. There were some people there that looked like they came from work, so they were dressed nicely, and there were also people there that came from the gym wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt. When I asked whether or not there was a dress code for the restaurant, they said that there wasn’t one. The management wants people to be comfortable while they eat there. They want the customer to feel at home, enjoying a meal in a beautiful setting. They don’t care what you’re wearing; as long as you come in looking for a nice place to eat with good food, they are happy to welcome you. Does the look of the restaurant affect the customers that go in there? I would say yes, because it seems like a lot of students don’t realize that they can go in there right after class, or when hanging out with friends. Osteria 100 is accommodating to students. They allow students to pay with their Bison Bucks to show that they are Point Park friendly.  Even if students don’t have any Bison Bucks on their accounts, that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t eat there. The prices are very reasonable. Patrons can get a Caesar salad for as little at $3, and a personalized cheese pizza for only $5. Another choice is sandwiches, which are priced between $6 and $8. The most expensive item on their menu is Linguini pasta, which is only $13.I do not think that Osteria 100 was created strictly for faculty and administration; I believe that they would like all of Point Park community to come and enjoy their food and atmosphere. It is not too fancy and upscale for students. They encourage students to let go of stress after they have class, or after finishing up homework to take a deep breath and relax. They want their modern interior to make students feel as if they are eating at an upscale restaurant, even when they are on their own college campus. I think that Osteria 100 definitely adds class to Point Park. The fact that there is now such a modern restaurant on our campus makes us look that much more appealing to people who don’t go to school here. Yes, the look of the restaurant is very modern and formal, but that doesn’t mean they want their customers to be.  They invite college students to come in whenever they want. If you don’t want to take my word for it, go in some day after class and see how you feel about it. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed when you do.
