What’s New Point Park?

This week, two brand new shows premiered on Tuesday, Sept. 11 called “Go On” and “The New Normal.” Also, the much-anticipated season premiere of “Glee” aired on Thursday, September 14. Up first, Mathew Perry is back with “Go On.” Remember Chandler Bing from “Friends?”  If Chandler was one of your favorite characters, then you should watch this show. If not, then it’s probably alright if you skip out on it. This isn’t necessarily the show that I’m going to make sure I’m in my room to watch when it airs; it’s that show that I’m going to watch a few days later online, if I have time. However, if you are interested in watching it live, then “Go On” is on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on NBC. The next show on my list is a show called “The New Normal.” This show is about a gay couple – Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) – who wants a baby, so they find a surrogate named Goldie (Georgia King) to carry their child. Meanwhile, Goldie has a very conservative grandmother, Jane (Ellen Barkin), who has a problem with the whole situation and isn’t afraid to voice her opinions. Now this is a show that I will be watching as it airs. This show is filled with hilarious one-liners and promising plot lines. This show is going to be a hit, and I promise it will leave you smiling like an idiot at your television. “The New Normal” is on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on NBC. Another show that aired this week was “Glee” with its season four premiere. The premiere started off slowly, but then gained momentum about half way through. We saw Rachel Berry in New York, and met a lot of new characters in this episode. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t really care about new people; I just want to see where my favorite characters are. Nevertheless, “Glee” is one of my favorite shows. It gives the audience a special feeling, and the musical numbers are always amazing and a lot of fun. Since I’m not a musical theater major, I live vicariously through this show. For those who wish life was a musical, this show makes you feel like it is, and you can’t tell me you don’t swoon every time Darren Criss opens his mouth.  “Glee” is giving off a much different feel this year, but it also gives the audience a breath of fresh air and something new. This season is definitely one to be excited about, so watch it on its brand new time, Thursdays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
