Drug Violation leads to arrest
According to Point Park Police Chief Jeffrey Besong, officers found a man with drugs on his person in the parking lot of the Student Center on April 17 at approximately 2:04 p.m. He said the man had an active warrant out for his arrest, so he was taken to the Allegheny County Jail. Besong said the warrant was for failure to appear to a hearing.
Two people cited for drug violations in the same day
Point Park Police found a man on Third Avenue who had marijuana and a crack pipe in his possession on April 18 at 11:18 a.m., Besong said. Another man was found three hours later at 3:27 p.m. on the same street in possession of a crack pipe and crack rocks. Both men were given summary citations, which Besong said usually leads to a hearing or a $250 fine.
Man trespasses in Lawrence Hall and gets arrested
An unwelcome man piggybacked off a student and got into Lawrence Hall on April 19 at 2:33 p.m. According to Besong, an automatic alarm on a turnstile showed the man sitting on one of the couches in the lobby, which police responded to. He was searched and found with marijuana in his possession, but ultimately charged and arrested for trespassing.
Marijuana smoking continues in Lawrence Hall
A student in Lawrence Hall called Point Park Police for a marijuana smell. Officers responded along with an administrator on duty and found drug paraphernalia in a dorm room. The case was referred to Student Life and the drugs were confiscated.
