Construction at the intersection of Wood Street and Boulevard of the Allies did not end at the completion of the Village Park. The renovation going on alongside the park is for a new restaurant that will be open to serve Point Park University students and the downtown Pittsburgh community. The privately owned and operated restaurant, Osteria 100, will be ready for business in mid-April of this year, but an exact date depends upon the progress of construction. “Point Park University is excited to welcome Osteria 100 to the Village Park,” Mariann Geyer, vice president for External Affairs, said. “The talented restaurant professionals from Osteria 100 are eager to serve great food in a great atmosphere here in downtown Pittsburgh.”The restaurant will have a contemporary rustic interior with outdoor al fresco seating, bar seating and dining tables.Osteria 100 will be offering seasonally-prepared dishes featuring local ingredients. The menu at Osteria 2350, The Strip District location, provides a variety of affordable, made-to-order salads, soups, sandwiches and specialty pastas. There will also be a full bar onsite that will enable management to cater to the Downtown business clientele and residents, in addition to faculty, visiting parents and students of legal drnking age.Leisa Anderson, director of sales and marketing for the restaurant group, encourages individuals to apply, as the owners are now accepting applications for hostesses and serving and kitchen positions. Any student or non-student that is interested can contact a member of management at the restaurant Osteria 2350, by calling (412)281-6595. The dining hours are not yet determined, but Anderson said that lunch and dinner will be served. The restaurant will maintain their standard hours of operation year round.Since the restaurant is not a campus owned facility it is not determined whether or not students will be able to use their meal plan or flex dollars at the restaurant. Students will be updated with more information about the restaurant as the construction furthers and updates are received.
