Brescia faces losses from men and women’s soccer

The women’s soccer team was prepared for their home game vs Brescia. The game was a double header, they would play, then the Men’s team would play. This game was also staff/faculty appreciation night. The women’s game started late, as Brescia traveling was slightly delayed. The game was intense immediately, as The Pioneers got shots on goal early in the first half. The first goal did not come until the 33rd minute, when Holly Pascoe got a beautiful goal, to put the Pioneers up 1-0. Before the first half ended, Chanell Britten got a chance at a penalty kick, in which she pinned into the net. This game put Point Park up to a first half lead of 2-0.

The second half started off hot, where Orsi Tatai got a shot towards the net, and into the goal. The Pioneers looked unstoppable, with this goal coming at the 47th minute mark. At the 66th minute mark, Brescia got their first, and soon to be only goal of the game. In the 80th minute, The Pioneers would respond, when Holly Pascoe would get her second goal of the game, this would result in a 4-1 lead, and eventual win for The Pioneers. This game was much needed game, a strong convincing. The Pioneers energy and chemistry looked strong all night during this matchup, and this game would keep the pioneers above .500 on their record.

Men’s Soccer vs Brescia: The women’s game was settled. The men looked to continue the winning night, as they were ready for their matchup vs Brescia. This game was a highlight real for Point Park, as with just 3 minutes in the game, Bruno Lancellotti would put The Pioneers up to an early 1-0 lead. It did not stop there, as the 7-minute mark went along Moritz Sarfert got the ball to find the back of the night. The Pioneers now went up 2-0, and that got the crowd, the team, and everyone in the stadium fired up. These 2 early goals would create a story, the story of an eventual domination. 2 minutes later, Jaume Genovard would score at the 9-minute mark. He would do it again at the 32-minute mark. Jaume now had 2 goals in one half, and The Pioneers were up 4-0. The half was over, and The Pioneers were not going to stop.

3 minutes into the second half, The Pioneer showed there was no slowing down, as Philipp Harder scored 48 minutes into the match. Giovanni Pezzi would go on to score in the 68th minute. One minute later, Nils Benning would score. 7-0 Pioneers at this point. 3 minutes later, 72 minutes into the match, Felipe Menezes would find the back of the net. This game was now out of hand, but the Pioneers wanted to show off more. They kept the crowd going, and the energy up. Giovanni Pezzi got his 2nd goal of the match. At 82 minutes, Peter Holt would score, making the game 10-0. This is not a common soccer score, The Pioneers just put on a show. 10-0 final score, and an end to an incredible night for Point Park Soccer.

The Pioneers are now 5-2-2 in the season, also being 2-0 in conference play.Their next game is vs Indiana East, September 30th.
