Point Park University announced it will begin strictly enforcing its residence hall lockout policy, according to an email from the Office of Student Life sent on Sept. 4.
Unlike years prior, Student Life will log each lockout in a Google Sheet, recording the student’s name, ID number, residence hall, and room number to ensure the policy is enforced.
“Tracking the lockouts got so hard,” Maria Ochoa, Director of Residence Life said. “Now we have a system, and it is filed through the office of student life.”
Ochoa clarified that some circumstances exempt students from the policy.
“If someone is missing their key or it breaks off in the door, they’re exempt for being filed in for that. I’m not going to charge them for lockouts when it’s not their fault,” Ochoa said.
