1968: Former Pitt track and field coach Carl Olson named coach of track and field team. Dubbed by The Globe as “one of the most successful in the country.”
1976: Lawrence Hall Lounge moved to second floor; subsequently “ruined.”
1978: Academic Hall room 608 renovated with typewriters, a video terminal and phones hooked up to a custom switchboard to listen to student interviews.
1979: Pioneer Baseball wins third place in NAIA World Series.
1997: Student Government Association (then United Student Government) rebuilt after disbanding due to lack of interest in 1996.
1999: Point Park “goes online” with a new website.
2000: Former professor Thomas Mullane sues Point Park College for “retaliation and discrimination.”
2001: New COPA staff join the university.
2002. Bachelor’s of science in law enforcement, masters of science in criminal justice administration and associate of science degree in professional studies introduced as new majors.
2006: University Center TV studio renovated with then-new equipment, allowing student creations to be shared for the first time. Previously, content produced at the TV studio would only be seen by the professor of a class.
2008: West Penn Hall elevators seen as problematic for those with little patience.
