One man was arrested in Village Park on Oct. 11 at 10:19 a.m. after Point Park police officers say he was causing a disturbance.
Besong said the man was screaming profanities at students while trying to charge his phone, which was not working. Point Park police attempted to move the man along, which he resisted.
According to Besong, officers almost had to tase the man because he was resisting arrest, but he eventually calmed down while city police assisted Point Park police. Besong said the man knocked off his handcuffs before calming down.
He was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and making terroristic threats. The man is currently in the Allegheny County Jail. Besong commended his officers for de-escalating the situation.
