About a dozen protestors rallied at the Hot Metal Bridge in Pittsburgh’s South Side in protest of President Donald Trump’s continuing immigration crackdown; both locally and nationally. Protestors, organized by 50501, marched from the bridge to ICE’s Pittsburgh field office at 3000 Sidney St. to yell “until we are done.”
Since Trump was inaugurated in January last year, 47 people have died in ICE detention facilities. Others, like Daphy Michel and Nurul Amin Shah Alam, died after being released. Roughly 70% of those detained by ICE have no criminal record.
