Judging Java: Reflections on a Junior Year

As is tradition for this column at the end of a semester, I will be taking this space to offer reflections on the past semester as opposed to reviewing a coffee shop. I am, however, still writing this in a coffee shop (Delanie’s on Carson Street, for those curious), so it does still count.

Pioneer Records shows off student talent at release show

Point Park’s very own Pioneer Records will be hosting their 2022 Release Show this Wednesday, April 13, at The Club at Stage AE. The students at Pioneer Records have been pouring their energy into this show in order to share with the world a performance that would be both memorable to the audience and those performing. The artists slated to take the stage include Tupelo, Cesca Violet and The Kill Caesar Club.

Pioneer Public: Bethany Latham (James The Seventh)

A sophomore public relations and advertising student with a love for music, Bethany Latham, known artistically as James The Seventh, has created a psychedelic musician identity and a body of work to follow the same theme. When an injury stopped Latham from dancing in the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, she turned to music. It was a gift from her dad that encouraged her, after years of considering writing songs, to finally leap into the music scene.
