‘Don’t Worry Darling’ somehow turns out to be an entertaining film despite pre-premiere drama

Written By Kylie Thomas, Co-Features/A&E Editor September 28, 2022
This past weekend on September 23, one of the most anticipated movies of the year, “Don’t Worry Darling” opened in theaters across the world. Part of the reason the movie was so anticipated is due to its casting of pop-star Harry Styles and actress Florence Pugh. Though the other part is because of the negative energy that seems to follow the film and its cast.

Judging Java: Point Perk Revisited

Written By Jake Dabkowski, Coffee Columnist September 28, 2022
Two years ago, I wrote that “Point Perk’s coffee is so awful that it wouldn’t surprise me if it emerged as a frontrunner in the 2024 Republican primaries.” At the time of reviewing Point Perk, our university’s coffee shop, my one star out of five review was one of the most scathing reviews I had ever written.

Joe Keery’s music project Djo releases sophomore album

Written By Rachel Ross, Co-Features/A&E Editor September 28, 2022
I tend to gravitate more towards older music than new releases. The newer artists that I follow faithfully are few and far between. No successful society can survive by banning books

Written By August Stephens, Opinions Editor September 28, 2022
In the case of books, I know there is a large part of the general public which do not read them. Some people also prefer audiobooks because they find them easier to listen to or pay attention to, as examples. Literature, however, has held a grip on various populations for thousands of years. Everyone deserves free, inclusive access to books, whether it be online, in a bookstore, or through a library.

Gun violence needs to face reform

Written By Jake Dabkowski, Editor-in-Chief September 28, 2022
America has a gun problem. This is an undeniable fact. Anyone who attempts to deflect or deny this fact is part of the problem. We, as a society, must pass and enforce robust gun control legislation as fast as possible. We needed this legislation years ago, and every day we need it more than ever.

Treat the public transit workers with respect

Written By Jake Dabkowski, Editor-in-Chief September 21, 2022
Something that I have observed that has become increasingly more prevalent in the past few months is passengers on public transportation being disrespectful to drivers and employees. I’ll have a few examples of different behaviors that I have observed before making a desperate plea for people to treat these employees with respect, but if you’re going to skim this article then I beg of you to take away one key point: be respectful.

Globe’s Point: Please follow the current mask policy

September 21, 2022
At the point of writing this article, there have been 113 cumulative COVID-19 cases on campus. Starting a new semester, students and staff coming from various states and communities, we knew cases were bound to rise. As we continue to navigate this “post-pandemic” and “new normal” world, we continue to ask for your patience.
