Pioneer Public: Bethany Latham (James The Seventh)

A sophomore public relations and advertising student with a love for music, Bethany Latham, known artistically as James The Seventh, has created a psychedelic musician identity and a body of work to follow the same theme. When an injury stopped Latham from dancing in the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, she turned to music. It was a gift from her dad that encouraged her, after years of considering writing songs, to finally leap into the music scene.

There is a lot that goes into a good movie. The plot, directing, acting and much more are important components, but something that gets overlooked sometimes is the soundtrack. While some movies seem to lack this element, others absolutely nail the music, and it makes the viewing experience that much better.

Not only is she an actress, but she is also the main reason the LatinX Student Association is up and running with a variety of events to bring Latinx culture and representation to the forefront of campus life on Point Park.

The Rink Report: Penguins bounce back in dominant fashion over Red Wings, face Rangers next

After losing their last two games, the Pittsburgh Penguins crushed the Detroit Red Wings 11-2.  Pittsburgh’s offense was dominant in the win as they scored a season-high 11 goals. Stars Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby both had a great game as Malkin had four points while Crosby finished with three. Three of Malkin’s four points were goals as he recorded a hat trick. This was Malkin’s 13th hat trick of his career.

Port Authority experiences delays amid protests

On March 11, the Port Authority of Allegheny County announced possible delays of all vehicles due to employee demonstrations against the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, causing concern among students and faculty who commute to campus.
