If you were walking home from the Pirates baseball game on September 7, you probably would’ve heard “heys” and thumping beats pumping out of Stage AE as $uicideboy$ introduced fans to their second Grey Day Tour.

Comedian Kurtis Conner wows fans with stand-up tour

On Sunday, September 4th, I saw Kurtis Conner’s live stand up comedy routine in Buffalo, New York. For those unfamiliar, Conner is an internet personality, primarily creating commentary YouTube content, with over 4 million subscribers on the platform. I’ve been a big fan for several years now, and so when I heard that he was going on a stand up tour with fellow web personalities Jacob Sharpe and Dean Hebscher, and that they would be stopping in my hometown, I took the opportunity to see the internet boys live.

“The Rehearsal” blurs comedy and reality together

In the past twenty years, a new style of comedy has arisen. These movies and shows present real people’s reactions to various situations, often scripted or improvised by a host or actor playing a character. The first mainstream, notable example of this style is 2004’s “Borat.” In “Borat,” Sacha Baron Cohen portrays the titular “Borat,” a fictitious journalist from Khazikstan who travels across America and interviews various people. A majority of the people that he interacts with in the movie are real people, and their reactions to his antics are genuine.

Few things are as inescapable as time. No matter how hard you fight it, no matter how hard you deny it, time is going to pass. People will grow older, presidents will be replaced, new blockbuster film franchises will overtake old ones. The leaves will always change with the seasons and then fall.
