Track and Field place big at weekend Ohio meets

This past weekend, the Pioneers track and field team competed in two separate events: the Kent State Doug Raymond National Qualifier in Kent, Ohio on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27 and Muskingum Meet #3 at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. 

 

At the Kent State National Qualifier, senior Damir Lomax finished with a time of 22.52 in the Men’s 200 Meters. Junior Juan Barrera finished with a time of 23.05.

 

In the Women’s 200 Meters, junior Diamond Rush finished with a time of 26.24, sophomore Mya Greschner with a time of 26.32, senior Natalea Hillen with a time of 26.55 and junior RaKeya Ellsberry with a time of 27.94. 

 

In the Women’s 3000 Meters, junior Allison Plassio finished with a time of 10:54:00 and freshman Olivia Hare finished with a time of 11:05:09. 

 

In the Women’s Long Jump, freshman Emma Roemer finished with a mark of 5.02 meters and Mya Greschner finished with a mark of 4.90 meters. 

 

Shifting gears to Muskingum Meet #3, Damir Lomax finished fifth in the Men’s 60 Meters Finals with a time of 7.08. Natalea Hillen finished seventh in the Women’s 60 Meters Finals with a time of 8.35. 

 

In the Men’s 200 Meters, freshman Akeem Mustapha finished with a time of 23.73, senior Dorian Boatswain with a time of 23.86, junior Toby Wright with a time of 24.16, junior Wesley Tower with a time of 24.43 and senior Tyler Hare with a time of 24.89.

 

In the Women’s 200 Meters, juniors Hannah Bond and RaKeya Ellsberry finished with times of 28.70 and 28.77, respectively. Sophomore Makayla Rice finished with a time of 28.85 and junior Luchama Lubin with a time of 29.49.

 

In the Men’s 400 Meters, senior Tyler Hare finished with a time of 56.44. In the Women’s 400 Meters, Mya Greschner placed first with a time of 1:00:87, junior Jana Schmid placed seventh with a time of 1:04:84, freshman Karen Rios finished with a time of 1:05:77, Hannah Bond with a time of 1:06:33, and freshman Cassondra O’Connor with a time of 1:07:40. 

 

In the Men’s 500 Meters, Toby Wright and Wesley Tower finished with times of 1:10:15 and 1:10:22, respectively. In the Women’s 500 Meters, Diamond Rush placed first with a time of 1:23:55 and Natalea Hillen placed second with a time of 1:24:57.

 

In the Men’s 800 Meters, senior Andy Schach finished with a time of 2:06:43 and freshman Kanye Mills finished with a time of 2:12:19. 

 

In the Men’s 1000 Meters, sophomore Gabe Ebersole finished with a time of 2:59:98. In the Women’s 1000 Meters, Jana Schmid placed second with a time of 3:14:76, Cassondra O’Connor finished third with a time of 3:16:71 and Karen Rios placed 11th with a time of 3:32:09. 

 

In the Men’s 3000 Meters, freshman Kodi Quimby finished with a time of 11:07:02 and senior Dominic Zucco finished with a time of 11:56:12. In the Women’s 3000 Meters, junior Corinne Lee-Hauser placed ninth with a time of 11:34:91. 

 

In the Men’s Long Jump, Akeem Mustapha finished second with a mark of 6.58 meters, Collins Eze placed fourth with a mark of 6.42 meters, junior Maxwell Goode finished with a mark of 6.14 meters and Damir Lomax finished with a mark of 6.11 meters. 

 

In the Women’s Long Jump, Mya Greschner placed fifth with a mark of 5.02 meters, Emma Roemer placed ninth with a mark of 4.62 meters, Luchama Lubin finished with a mark of 4.23 meters and Makayla Rice finished with a mark of 4.18 meters. 

 

The next meets take place next weekend, as the Pioneers will compete in the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Open February 2-3.
