Point Park track and field traveled across town to compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday and Saturday, where four Pioneers earned top-five finishes.
The Pioneers competed against local Division I, II and III universities, including Pitt, Duquesne, Robert Morris and Slippery Rock.
Sophomore Chase Bowen secured a third-place finish in the 800-meter race and a fourth-place finish in the 1500m.
In the women’s 800-meter race, freshman Aubrey Smith placed third.
Dunya Van den Tooren, former MEC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, led the way in the field events with a first-place finish in the high jump and a fourth-place finish in the long jump.
Ben Williams finished third in the javelin throw, followed by Ben Blahovec in sixth place.
The Pioneers continue their outdoor season in Slippery Rock on Friday to compete in the Dave Labor Invitational.
